ODO 167: “All Together” Kids are Gonna Kill You
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Ever have one of those days where you’re sure there was something you needed to do, but then you forget? That’s me today. I know I had a topic planned for this week, but damnit if I didn’t forget what it was. That there is the colander that is my brain. So we get to go on this mystery trip on my train of though together. But I do have some updates from last week’s show, and a news segment packed with poor decisions. Finally, in Recommended Listening, in honor of Halloween, I’m giving you reason to worry about the kids coming to your door with “Murderous Minors: Killer Kids.”
Updates
If you actually listened to Ep 166, you would have heard me talk about both the loss of our pets, and about me being in a lot of tooth pain. This Wednesday, we finally received the ashes for Emmitt and Shelby. We are expecting the tree for Shelby’s living urn to be delivered by Friday. On the subject of my teeth, I did not have any teeth pulled out last weekend, as I expected. Instead, the dentist loaded me up with antibiotics for the root infection, and I’m going in this weekend to have the teeth pulled. We’ll also be planning out the future of my tooth situation and looking into getting me all new dentures.
BS From The News
The marketing for Kellogg’s “All Together” cereal would lead you to think that it’s a single box with all of their most popular cereals combined. In reality, it’s just a $20 variety pack with six small boxes of the different cereals for you to mix yourself. On top of that, it actually contains less cereal than the standard 8 box variety pack that costs about $5.
A St. Louis High School cancelled their entire football season after school officials found a supposedly suspended player participating in a game using a different name and jersey number. It appears the coaches regularly would give ineligible players fake names and numbers in order to get them in the game. On top of the season being cancelled, the entire coaching staff were also fired.
This last Sunday, while tornadoes were tearing through the area, the local NBC affiliate opted to not cut away from the Dallas Cowboys football game to air the emergency alerts.
JACKASS OF THE WEEK
You Can Go To Jail For Trick-Or-Treating In Some Towns
There are actually towns and cities across the USA where it is illegal for you to trick-or-treat if you are over a certain age. In one town, trick-or-treating over the age of 12 can result in 6 months in jail and a fine! I don’t care what anybody says. You’re never too old to go trick-or-treating. As long as you do so responsibly, and aren’t an asshole.
