How Did I Even Get Here? ODO 203

It’s another one of those, train of thought falling off the tracks, kind of weeks.
What I can tell you is that my brain goes all over the place with topics and thoughts. What I can’t tell you is how exactly I got from where I started to where I ended up.

I know I talked about fixing up my office and my wife’s job. Somehow I got into the various responsibilities of my pets. I think I touch on my content production schedule, my existence as a walking series of contradictions, and something about my “regular” job. I know there’s more in there, and I know there is some sort of logical thread that strings point A to point Q somehow, but I can’t tell you what that is in a logical fashion.
It’s just another silly night for my brain. But I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned the tagline for this podcast is “Normal is not my specialty.” Just saying…

Holiday Spending Season Is Coming: ODO 124

I realized, as I started recording, that Halloween is only a week away and I don’t know what we are going to do this year. As I thought about that I started thinking about the holiday season and how Halloween kicks off the season of spending. Between Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas time, you just start purging cash at the end of October. I also reflect on how my general introversion makes me uncomfortable with holiday travel, and I have a callback to last week’s psychological breakdown.

In Recommended Listening I’ve got a super short flash fiction podcast. I’m talking about that sci-fi/ horror drama, 600 Second Saga.

For the Jackass of the Week, I’m off to Spain for some unnecessarily expensive worms.

To say this show is a little random would be an understatement. I go from talking about car issues and why I missed last week, to adventures in voice acting. I get a little psycho-analytical, and somewhere in there I crack open my brain a bit and the voices in my head start leaking through. Have I mentioned normal is not my specialty? In the news I’ve got Apple “fixing” an emoji, a bunch of jealous parents, and a wannabe Texas Chainsaw Massacre who’s getting fitted for a peg leg.

ODO 111: Sometimes I Just Ramble

Ramble Session

I’ve been so busy with podcast editing and working on business stuff that I just did not do much for news research this week. So I decided that I’m going to jump to the new format starting this week. At the same time, I have no clue what to talk about this week. It’s a good old fashioned ramble session. I get into my struggle with not buying new recording equipment, my attempt at a work/work/life balance, sacrificing sleep to get more work done and how I’ve always just run that way. I get interrupted by Sam deciding to change his name for a few minutes, and I get mildly philosophical about my views on calling myself selfless. So much crazy stream of consciousness this week. I get geeky with this week’s Recommended Listening feature, the Sometimes Geek podcast, and declare a bunch of health conscious festival goers the Jackass of the Week.

There are no words to describe what happens when my family comes on the podcast other than pure chaos. This week I’m joined by my sister, Raevyn Lunatik, and her daughter, Little Jae Sinclair. These are professional names of course. Raevyn, apart from being my oldest sister, is also a skater for the AZ Derby Dames and a personal trainer. She is here both for fun but also to announce the launch of LunatikFitness.com and her Lunatik Fit Camps. Little Jae Sinclair is a rising star in the Phoenix and Los Angeles burlesque and fetish dance scene. She can be found performing with both traditional burlesque and horror/ fetish style groups throughout the Phoenix and Los Angeles area.
