Desks, Distance Learning, and Non-Corona Gardening w/ ReAnna: ODO 183

I didn’t plan it this way, but it’s time for the “Guest of The Month!” And because I wasn’t planning to record yet, and she was bored, I’m talking to my wife, ReAnna.
(Seriously, recording this was all her idea.)
As much as I love my my guest episodes, I’m always excited when my wife wants to sit down and record, because no matter what we’re talking about, we’re still being silly and giving each other crap the entire time.

This time around we’re going deeper into what we’ve had going on around the house during the age of Corona. We talk more about “distance learning” and just looking forward to school coming back next year. ReAnna shares her college journey from curious history major through theater and now graduating from ASU with an education degree on her way to a Master’s in Library Science.

Viral Homeschooling and Insta-blockage: ODO 181

This week I’m catching you up on what’s been going on around here while I’ve been releasing interviews. Long story short, school is closed, we’ve gotta homeschool the boys, ReAnna got sick, and I think we both may have had the corona, but can’t be sure.

Plus, I rant about how Instagram shut down one account and froze another for my editing business, ODO Voice Productions.

Gluten Free Migraine Meals: ODO 178

This week I start off with a little housekeeping, and I explain why it is I’m moving the show to a Monday release. Long story short, it allows me to pre-record shows and work on getting them finalized over the weekend, which means hopefully having consistent releases.
I also talk about my recent art accident and it’s addition to the ODO Merch Shop.

“Chaos Practice” Now available in the ODO Shop

After a break for “Some Kind Of Brown,” I get into the main topic: gluten free meal planning by way of my wife’s migraine medication. It doesn’t sound like two things that are related, but I guarantee you they are. And it has caused us to make some calculated changes in our weekly dinner menu.

Laundry Apocalypse w/ Donna From “Broken Compass” Podcast

It’s guest time again Oddballs. This time I have Donna Johnson from the “Broken Compass” podcast, which is a very new podcast featuring Donna and her best friend Angela talking about, well, all of the things they like to talk about. It’s a little bit true crime, a little bit conspiracies, and a little bit just a couple of moms bullshitting. Like me, Donna is the stay-at-home parent to her two boys, so this conversation gets way into all of the “fun” of being a parent that they just don’t warn you about.

Dental Distress and Gilligan’s Island In Space: ODO 176

How was your Valentine’s Day? Mine went well enough. That is, until our son knocked one of his teeth out. But that didn’t stop us from buying all of the kids bikes only 2 days later. Never mind that none of them knew how to ride one. Speaking of hilarious situations, this week’s Recommended Listening feature is going to another sci-fi disaster comedy audio drama. I’m talking about Oz-9.

Practical Valentine’s Chores: ODO 175

It’s Valentine’s Day! For some it’s a time to get romantic and maybe shower your significant other with gifts. For me, it’s kinda complicated. First off I have no clue what to get my wife. All of the standard gifts either wont work or are too expensive. That and I’m just too financially practical to justify spending the money for a lot of things.

Then I get into my kids’ outright refusal to clean their bedrooms, even to the point of doing other chores that they aren’t responsible for, just so they don’t have to do the ones that they are.

Finally, another founding member of the Podfix network has announced their ending. We’re saying goodbye to “Weird With You.”

A Sick Dog, R. Kelly, A Girl, And Her Horror: ODO 165

Geeze I’m busy this week. With all of the preparing for NAPODPOMO I almost forgot I still needed to do a regular episode. On top of that, our dog has been sick and I’ve been having to take him back and forth to his vet with no answers yet. In the news: I’ve got a guy who likes to scam scammers, a stupid woman who should have been eaten, and R. Kelly reaffirming that he’s not only a douchebag, but also a jackass. Finally in Recommended Listening, I’m gonna try to keep it creepy for October with this week’s feature: “A Girl And Her Horror.”

Oh No! What Were You Thinking!?: ODO 162

Soooo… I’m sick. No 2 ways about it. I’ve been coughing my head off, and my voice is shot. So I’m gonna continue to talk about how I’m sick and my voice is shot because I’m smart that way. On a similar “smart” note, all of the news this week can be summed up in one question, “what were they thinking?” There’s a preacher trying to outdo Jesus, a really idiotic French court ruling, and a Jackass who spent his life savings fighting a speeding ticket. But wait, there’s more. In Recommended Listening I’m going back to a show that’s been mentioned but not formally featured, it’s “Oh No! Lit Class.”
