Man! When it rains, it pours. In this case, I’m flooded with new opportunities in voice acting for podcasts. Of course, that wont keep me from bitching about douchebag grooms and pre-infected tissues. And I swear I featured this show before, but I can’t remember when. I’m talking about “Poplar Cove.”
This week I find myself in a sea of parents at one of the most uncomfortable events of the year… Children’s winter concerts. Throwing the season out the window, in Recommended Listening I’ve got a new take on a horror movie podcast with “Kim and Ket Stay Alive… Maybe.” And I wrap it all up with a failed marriage between a woman… and a ghost.
Download Mp3 I’m back to “normal” with this week’s show where I talk about my new status of being “officially” a Dad, and it revolves around lights. This week’s featured podcast brings the 4th appearance of John Buckenas, 2nd for Jessica Kupferman, and Recommended Listening debut of Melissa Brilliant with their show “Brilliant Observations.” And it all wraps up with a Jackass of The Week involving a woman who just wanted to buy some Pringles. Or did she?
Happy Halloween everyone! This week I simply take a stroll through the headstones and talk about all of the things that get me in the mood for Halloween. From Music and movies to, of course, podcasts. I chat about the Netflix series “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and have the long awaited Recommended Listening feature of “Sirenicide.” Download mp3
I realized, as I started recording, that Halloween is only a week away and I don’t know what we are going to do this year. As I thought about that I started thinking about the holiday season and how Halloween kicks off the season of spending. Between Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas time, you just start purging cash at the end of October. I also reflect on how my general introversion makes me uncomfortable with holiday travel, and I have a callback to last week’s psychological breakdown. In Recommended Listening I’ve got a super short flash fiction podcast. I’m talking about that sci-fi/ horror drama, 600 Second Saga. For the Jackass of the Week, I’m off to Spain for some unnecessarily expensive worms. Download mp3
To say this show is a little random would be an understatement. I go from talking about car issues and why I missed last week, to adventures in voice acting. I get a little psycho-analytical, and somewhere in there I crack open my brain a bit and the voices in my head start leaking through. Have I mentioned normal is not my specialty? In the news I’ve got Apple “fixing” an emoji, a bunch of jealous parents, and a wannabe Texas Chainsaw Massacre who’s getting fitted for a peg leg. Download mp3
Download MP3 Super short show this week. I’ve just got that weather change low energy vibe going right now. But that doesn’t stop me from talking podcasting, and giving a quick “Cliff’s Notes” of my livestream on International Podcast Day. I also rant a bit about the recently announced cancellation of the bankruptcy auction for Toys R Us. And I crown Lindsay Lohan the Jackass Of The Week over her attempted kidnapping of homeless refugee children in Russia on Instagram.
Another month, another trip to the food trucks. This time, we went in with a plan and had the best, most filling trip yet. Speaking of family fun time, monster number 3 got a little bit of social media traction over a video of him watching his favorite team on BattleBots. Plus, I’ve got a Jackass Bridezilla with a big price tag, and a little chat about International Podcast Day. Download mp3
With all the nerdery in the news this week, I decided to take a break from my normal ramblings and nerd out a little bit. This week saw trailers dropped for the upcoming Disney sequel, “Mary Poppins Returns.” We also got the first trailer for the next film from Marvel studios, “Captain Marvel.” And finally we got an announcement that Netflix would be working with the show’s original creators to make a live-action series of “Avatar: The Last Air Bender.” I take a small sidebar to inform you of a tragedy that struck a podcasting brother in the form of Hurricane Florence. And last but certainly not least, in Recommended Listening, I actually talk about a show that I edit. (No I’m not being paid to do it either.) This week’s feature goes to “Leap Like Me” with Lisa Hoashi. Download mp3
