Published by Odd Dad Out on

A stomach bug has me a little behind in the news this week but, in Entertainment I’ve got Ryan Seacrest, Richard Simmons, and a new Hellboy movie. In Weird Shit I’ve got a woman who doesn’t want to share her money, napping at the gym, and REAL fake milk. Wrapping it all up this week’s featured podcast is The Countdown: Movie and TV Reviews.

-ENTERTAINMENT-

After a year of rotating co-hosts, ABC announced that, super entertainment mogul, Ryan Seacrest would become the new permanent co-host alongside Kelly Rippa. The show will now be called  “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”

Richard Simmons is suing the National Enquirer and Radar Online for publishing articles claiming his seclusion from the public involved him getting a sex change.

Hellboy creator, Mike Mignola announced that he is working on an R-rated reboot of the film series starring “Stranger Things” star David Harbour. The new film is tentatively titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen.

-WEIRD SHIT FROM THE NEWS-

A woman in Columbia swallowed $9000 in $100 bills that she had saved with her ex- because she didn’t want to give him half in the breakup. Doctors were able to surgically remove $5700 and eventually returned it to her. The rest apparently was fully digested.
A fitness company in the UK has begun “napercize” classes where attendees lay down for 45 minutes of rest, instead of further exhausting themselves with other workouts. The company wants to spread word of the health benefits of getting plenty of rest.
A pair of biomechanical engineers have developed a way to use genetically modified yeast to produce synthetic cow’s milk. They combined cow DNA with yeast so that when the yeast ferment they give off milk proteins. They combine those with plant based fats and sugars and the result is a lactose free, nutritionally identical synthetic milk without the use of a cow.

-JACKASS OF THE WEEK-

Ja Rule and Friends’ “Fyre Festival” Marketing Leads to Lawsuits

Not only was the “Fyre Festival” a complete catastrophe of epic proportions, the fallout keeps coming. The event organizers and promoters are now being sued by the bucketful including a $100 million class action suit. Also included in another suit are the social media influencers who may have been paid to promote the event on their profiles including: models, designers, and other high profile social media celebrities. Apparently there is legal precedent that may result in those celebrities actually being held accountable for damages alongside the event organizers.
